Automotive Electrification

E-A-R™ shock and vibration materials help protect display systems by providing high damping and soft cushioning in the gap spaces and gaskets under the screen. Foam materials have low and flat compression force deflection (CFD) curves, which provide energy absorption and consistent pushback, while viscoelastic damping materials dissipate unwanted noise and energy from shock and vibration.

ISOLOSS™ AG Battery Cell Cushioning Foam

ISOLOSS AG battery cell cushion foam is used between the cells of lithium-ion battery packs in electric vehicles to provide cushioning and gap filling throughout the battery's charge cycle.

Features and Benefits:

  • Engaging pushback force during low compression from battery cells at beginning of load (BOL)
  • Compliant compression force deflection as battery cells expand at end of load (EOL)
  • Wide range of densities and thicknesses available

Typical Properties:

  • Density from 160 kg/m³ to 400 kg/m³
  • Thickness from 1mm to 12mm
  • Meets UL94 HBF

ISODAMP™ C-6000 Sensor Isolation Elastomer

ISODAMP™ C-6000 is a molded elastomer for use as a component isolator in Electric Vehicles. The high damping characteristics of C-6000 reduce vibrations that can cause expensive sensor errors and buzzes, squeaks, and rattles (BSR) throughout the cabin for a more pleasant ride.

Features and Benefits:

  • Custom molded 3D designs provide optimized vibration isolation
  • Thermoplastic Vulcanizate (TPV) provides enhanced high temperature performance
  • High loss factor reduces BSR

Typical Properties:

  • Available in 3 durometers: 40, 50, and 60 Type A
  • Listed UL 94 V-0 at 6mm
  • Halogen-free per IEC 61249-2-21
